![]() It's easy to miss the button prompt when it originally flashes up, and due to the fact oil urns aren't selectable when the lantern is automatically refilled at the start of the next story mission, it can appear like you're out of oil and simply unable to get a refill. ![]() But press 元 down for a couple of seconds and your lamp will return. 元 is already used in the game (to reload your pistol or rifle) so this double use can be confusing. The button is 元 - clicking in the left stick - but also holding it down for a few seconds. It's at this point you need to manually select it to bring it out, using a button only stated right at the very earliest point you picked up the lamp (and at that point not actually needed). It's only after returning underground in later chapters (and perhaps a while later, due to the amount of open-world content Ubisoft has again thrown at the map to distract you) that you're required to use the lantern again. Here, the lantern stays lit and hangs on main character Arno's belt whenever needed, and you should have no problem solving the puzzles that immediately require its use (light a couple of braziers and a door opens - it's all very Zelda).
